Ministries
Beyond our services, 1st Baptist provides several other opportunities for people to get together to learn and get a better understanding of the wonderful life that our Savior provides. We have something to offer to all age groups and many chances for individuals to minister to others as well.
Sunday School & Christian Education
On Sunday mornings from 0930 to 1015, we hold Sunday school classes for the adult age group. Studies are usually on a book of Scripture and our time is spent delving deeply into God's Word to learn how we can better understand our relationship with The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Studies are developed to last at least twelve weeks. Though classes build on previous weeks' lesson, individuals are encouraged to attend whenever able. Classes are designed to encourage conversation and input from everyone in the group. Questions are welcomed and encouraged. These are small group sessions designed to encourage and inform new believers and develop a deeper knowledge in more mature believers.
Joy Club
Joy Club is our youth program open to all children in Kindergarten through 6th grade. On the first and third Mondays of each month starting at 3:15 in the afternoon, children from the community join together with our youth leaders to take part in snack, seasonally themed activities and crafts. During this time, children have a brief Bible lesson and are encouraged to talk and ask questions about their relationship with Jesus. Parents are also welcome and are encouraged to take part in activities with their children.
Women's Bible Study
Our women's Bible study meets once monthly on a Saturday morning in the home of one of our church's members. Over a potluck breakfast, the women fellowship and encourage each other to a closer walk with God. Following breakfast, they gather for a Bible study this is both relevant and Biblically sound. This is chance to open up and discuss freely questions and issues that women face today.
Nursery
During our Sunday morning service, nursery is provided in a safe, clean, and well supervised environment. Our experienced caretakers are prepared to guide your children through a brief Biblical lesson and provide coloring sheets and activities to reinforce the lesson. For our small visitors, we have a changing table and comfy and quiet place for naps. If your child has special requirements, please let us know ahead of time so we can make accommodations.
